About

The A. Dean Larsen Book Collecting Conference

is an educational and social experience where professional and amateur book collectors as well as book lovers gather together to immerse themselves in the world of rare books and collecting.

Because of the generous gift and ongoing support of the late A. Dean Larsen and his family, the L. Tom Perry Special Collections is able to sponsor this unique experience.

Collectors and enthusiasts of rare books gather together annually at the L. Tom Perry Special Collections on the Brigham Young University campus to enjoy each others’ company and participate in the unique experience of the A. Dean Larsen Book Collecting Conference.

Each year offers different and exciting workshops and seminars where participants see and learn first hand about many of the treasures located in the L. Tom Perry Special Collections. Gifted and knowledgeable professionals share their expertise in the beautiful and comfortable surrounding of the Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University.

The conference features panel presentations, seminars, and hands-on activities, all free to registrants. For a small fee, attendees may register for a delicious lunch with a wonderful speaker, or pre-conference workshops.

Prior exhibit catalogs, fine press keepsakes, and some essential reference works for collectors will also be available during the conference.

So if you enjoy rare books, or you enjoy collecting books, pamphlets, rare manuscripts and papers, correspondence, post cards, sports cards, photographs, autographs, and more, join us at the conference!
